The Virtual London Marathon

“With general entries now sold out, running for a charity is the only way to enter and take part in the virtual Virgin Money London Marathon on Sunday 3 October.”

This is the second year of the Virtual London Marathon and you can take part with Shivia!

The virtual Virgin Money London Marathon was held for the first time in 2020, when more than 37,000 runners, from all corners of the world, completed the race. The final finishing total of 37,966 means it has been awarded an official Guinness World Records title for the ‘Most users to run a remote marathon in 24 hours’

How does it work?

You have 24 hours to complete the marathon (between 00:00:00 to 23:59:59 BST on 3/10/21), wherever you are on the planet. The Official Virgin Money London Marathon App will enable you to log the 26.2 miles and earn your coveted London Marathon medal and New Balance finisher T-shirt.

As well as allowing you to track and log your run, the app will help bring the virtual experience to life, with an exclusive audio commentary featuring famous voices providing a memorable soundtrack to the day.

How to secure your place with Shivia

It’s official – the only way to enter the Virtual London Marathon is with a charity and Shivia has five places up for grabs.

We are asking all our runners to commit to a donation of £390 – that’s the equivalent of one £15 Shivia Poultry Toolkit delivered to a family living in poverty in India for every mile you run. You can make this a personal donation or your can set up a fundraising page to gather donations from your friends and family – we can help you organise this too.

  • It has been a pleasure to help shine a light on the inspirational work that Shivia does. The team’s passion and determination to make a lasting difference to families living in poverty – and doing so respectfully – is clear in every interaction. By contributing support for their marketing communications and brand identity evolution, we hope that they will be able to empower even more people in the future.

  • Agri-management Services has the capacity to deliver lasting change for our farmers. I have always felt that the farmers feed our nation while they can hardly afford to feed themselves. What an irony. So if my team and I are able to help farmers earn a sustainable income through agriculture, there’s nothing better than this.

  • I have witnessed first-hand how Shivia has not just changed but transformed people's lives with its livelihood programmes.
