Stuff the turkey….and spare a thought for chickens

Are you stuck for inspiration this Christmas? Are you looking for an original gift idea for friends or family? Or considering giving further afield?  We might have the answer you are looking for…..

Give the gift of chickens…

We have just launched our Christmas fundraising appeal: ‘Stuff the turkey and spare a thought for chickens’.

With a donation of just £15 to Shivia you could give the gift of chickens to a family living in poverty in India this Christmas. Not just one chicken but a small flock of 10 chicks which will soon grow into a ready source of some much needed cash (not to mention a nutritious meal for the whole family).  We call this our Poultry Toolkit and it provides everything our beneficiaries need to start a back-yard chicken farming enterprise, including extensive training and advice from our team of chicken farming experts to maximise success.

The countdown has started…

We hope you will get involved over the next couple of weeks. Our target is to raise enough donations to supply 200 Poultry Toolkits to families in need in the rural villages near Kolkata…..that’s 2,000 chickens! We are doing this through our crowdfunding partner Global Giving – they are running an end-of-year campaign for participating charities and, with your help, we could win a £1,000 bonus prize…and that could pay for another 66 Poultry Toolkits.

How to donate…

It’s easy to donate and turn your money into a Poultry Toolkit (or two or more) and help a family start their chicken farming enterprise for a brighter future.

Click here to visit our Global Giving page and choose how much to give.

Gift Certificates…

If you would like a Gift Certificate to show the value of your donation please get in touch here: toolkits@shivia.com.  We will email you a certificate to print at home and pop into someone’s Christmas stocking!

Wishing you a very happy Christmas from everyone at Shivia.

Thank you.

  • It has been a pleasure to help shine a light on the inspirational work that Shivia does. The team’s passion and determination to make a lasting difference to families living in poverty – and doing so respectfully – is clear in every interaction. By contributing support for their marketing communications and brand identity evolution, we hope that they will be able to empower even more people in the future.

  • Shivia’s work is very impressive - how it is carried out and who the people are working in the locations.  It is a very healthy and together team which is being very effective.

  • Agri-management Services has the capacity to deliver lasting change for our farmers. I have always felt that the farmers feed our nation while they can hardly afford to feed themselves. What an irony. So if my team and I are able to help farmers earn a sustainable income through agriculture, there’s nothing better than this.
