Shivia is part of #Togetherband campaign!

What is #TOGETHERBAND?

British Sustainable accessories brand BOTTLETOP launched the #TOGETHERBAND campaign on April 22nd 2019 – World Earth Day, setting out to engage the world with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, using creativity and culture to raise public awareness and inspire action to achieve them. It sets out to create a global community of active citizens, coming together to achieve the goals, connected through sustainable fashion, contemporary art, music and documentary film.

From tackling climate action and empowering girls to protecting the ocean and standing up for equal rights, UN agencies are working hard to build a better future for us all through the Global Goals. But they can’t do it alone. Thanks #TOGETHERBAND for connecting people everywhere to the Goals and encouraging us all to take action in our own communities!
Kathy Calvin, President, UN Foundation

At the heart of the campaign are 17 sustainably and ethically produced friendship bands in the colours of the Goals, made from up-cycled ocean plastic from Costa Rica and re-cycled steel from seized illegal firearm metal from El Salvador. The production of the bands is generating skills and livelihoods for women working as artisans in Nepal.

With each band purchased, you receive a second band to share with someone important to you, helping spread the Goals’ critical message. One kilo of ocean plastic will be removed from the ocean per purchase and 100% of profits from each #TOGETHERBAND sold will be used to fund life-changing projects working to advance the Goals and build a better future for us all.

What are the Sustainable Development Goals?

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries – developed and developing – in a global partnership. They recognise that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.

How is Shivia involved with #TOGETHERBAND?

Shivia is delighted to be one of the many charities chosen to benefit from the sale of the #TOGETHERBAND friendship bracelets. Our band represents Goal 12: Sustainable Development and Consumption. We have been selected to receive donations from the sales of this band alongside two other charities, City Harvest and Women Working Worldwide.  You can find out more about all the charities that are benefitting from sales of the #TOGETHERBAND bracelets here.

To get your #TOGETHERBAND friendship bracelet (plus a second one to gift to a friend), please click here.  You can choose the band that supports your preferred goal – obviously we’d be delighted if that was Goal 12 for Shivia!

  • Agri-management Services has the capacity to deliver lasting change for our farmers. I have always felt that the farmers feed our nation while they can hardly afford to feed themselves. What an irony. So if my team and I are able to help farmers earn a sustainable income through agriculture, there’s nothing better than this.
