Anawara

ANAWARA first registered for the Poultry Development Services livelihood programme (PDS) in August 2012 and has since invested in five poultry toolkits. Prior to PDS she had no income of her own and the family was very poor. She could not afford to send her eldest four daughters to school and married them off early. Her youngest daughter is ten years old and using the income she has gained from PDS, Anawara is pay for private tuition to educate her so she can gain the qualifications she needs to stay in school and pass her exams.

Anawara is delighted with the PDS programme and the small poultry farming enterprise she has developed with our help and training. She aspires to be able to own goats one day and start breeding from them to gain another income, as goats are a valued animal in West Bengal and command high prices at market.

The PDS project has helped a lot to improve my family’s life and means of income. Now I can buy many things for us and we eat good food regularly. I am very happy that I can earn some extra money to pay for private tuition for my child and keep her in school and give her nutritious food to eat. I am very interested to start another farming enterprise and I want to start raising goats one day.

  • Agri-management Services has the capacity to deliver lasting change for our farmers. I have always felt that the farmers feed our nation while they can hardly afford to feed themselves. What an irony. So if my team and I are able to help farmers earn a sustainable income through agriculture, there’s nothing better than this.
